The 3 Documents That Run My Business

Simple business systems that make life easy

The following 3 documents support me with channeling my energy towards the things that make the biggest difference in terms of impact and income:

1) Student enrolment form

When students enrol on a tiny course they are prompted to complete a brief enrolment form. Once submitted, responses are automatically sent to a Google Sheet where I can see in one central place; how people are discovering me, what challenge lead them to enrol in a particular tiny course, and what goal they believe the course will help them achieve.

Having this continual ‘intel’ flowing in means I can respond quickly to changes, refine my sales pages with more relevant language, and identify opportunities to increase my discoverability.

I teach this system in Create a Tiny Course.

2) Message Organiser

Each of my offerings has its own Message Organiser (MO) document. The MO is based on my 4-part messaging system, which provides a format for organising my knowledge, experience, and point of view into content and offerings that meet the needs of my audience.

One of my favourite things about the MO is that it gives me a structure for working with more than one niche, and this truly makes messaging easy.

I teach this system in Organise Your Message.

3) Seasonal Plan

At the end of each season, I take pause to review the past 3-months, acknowledge what worked (and what didn’t), check-in with my business and life goals, review my commitments, and get real about how much time I want to give my business each week.

There are always so many things that I think I’d love to do next, so this process helps we identify what to prioritise, and what to defer.

The outcome is that I identify up to 3 projects / creations for the coming season. For example the main project in my Autumn plan was writing and publishing my book.

And there is even a placeholder on my one-page seasonal plan for ‘bright shiny things’ that come my way that have nothing to do with my current intentions. These go under “To consider for next season”.

I teach this process in the Seasonal Planning Practice.
